Discover La Plaine-sur-Mer and its surroundings

Located on the coast of Jade, this small town of 4000 inhabitants enjoys a privileged location between Pornic and Pointe-Saint-Gildas. With its 6 beaches spread over 7 km of coastline, La Plaine-sur-Mer is a popular destination for fishermen. On foot or on stilts (the Fisheries that you can admire from the beaches), you can fish for shellfish like the famous Bouchot mussels and other shellfish!

For the lovers of walks, many hikes are to be done in La Plaine-sur-Mer. Discover its history, its heritage, its fauna and flora! Finish your day in one of the many restaurants facing the sea and admire the sunset reflected on the water before returning to your mobile home or tent for a good night’s sleep.

A botanical garden in the center of town

To take a walk, to let the little ones play or to attend one of the many events of La Plaine-sur-Mer, the Lakas garden is a must of the destination. Children’s games, picnic tables, and bowling greens attract visitors who want to enjoy this beautiful green space in the heart of the city. A health course has also been installed for sports enthusiasts. The departure of the walks is also from the garden.

Markets and services in La Plaine sur Mer

La Renaudière campsite is ideally located for all the activities you can do nearby, in La Plaine-sur-Mer! You’ll also find all the shops and services you need for your stay: bakery, supermarket, tourist office, libraries, etc.

In summer, in July and August, come and visit the market to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Looking for something new? Discover the local produce, especially the Retz Spirulina, a local speciality (you can also go directly to the producer, who will show you around his farm and perhaps let you in on some of his manufacturing secrets!)
